"Lake Lure, in North Carolina, was where I fell in love with art. I just couldn’t capture that beauty with a photograph. I realized I’d have to do it by being a painter." - Jerry Wray

Feeling that painting should not be exclusively realistic or abstract, Jerry traveled freely between the two, combining them when necessary to convey her emotional and philosophical responses to the subject.

The Landscapes Series includes her famous Trees, Big Skies, and Painted with Plastic pieces. To learn more about the techniques used in each of these, please read Jerry Wray: Pioneer Artist of the South.
