"I paint animals, birds and fish…these figures are almost, but not quite real. They seem very familiar to me - as if I had known them in my dreams or in my subconscious being. I would not be surprised if they seemed familiar to others also - as we are all connected in our deepest selves." - Jerry Wray

First, Jerry would draw squares and paint them with interference colors, which would turn black into a midtone. The visible midtones have the interference colors on them, including lavender, red, orange, blue, green, etc.

After that, she would paint each figure a different color and outline them with another color. The black shape was added last.

Jerry said she could “make” herself create about two pieces for the Dream Fragments Series per year.

“It takes a lot of patience,” she said. “I never thought I’d be painting with a tiny No. 2 brush, ever! But I am. And I love the results, I just don’t love the process.”
